just ask

Many of us find ourselves pondering the meaning of our own existences + questioning the world around us. In being curious, we provoke dialogue. By provoking dialogue, we can begin to abandon our fears + shatter taboo. We begin to empower ourselves + one another.
In ask + other questions, our anti-hero, a pathologically optimist child, takes us on an arduous but colorful + curious A B C journey through her universe, one through which she candidly + sometimes rhetorically questions her reader about the reality of her world + the one at large. Our pathological optimist borrows psychological, cultural, + sociological contexts through which she frames her questions, provoking us to consider not only her perspective, but our own pre-conceived notions + judgements. In the end, despite her disturbing journey, she remains intact + optimistic.
Perhaps the pathological optimist can encourage us not to be afraid to ask questions, no matter how dark or deep or scary. By confronting the nitty gritty parts of our psyches + the collective unconsious, we can begin to create a dialogue that includes everything; good, bad, ugly. And in our acceptance, maybe (just maybe) we can be happy.
